A Sumatran tiger resides in the tall grass. Tigers are undoubtedly one of the most incredible creatures to see up close with such a vibrant and mesmerizing coat. Sadly, there are only an estimated 400-600 Sumatran tigers left in the wild and are categorized as critically endangered, due to habitat destruction and poaching.
Fortunately, The San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance have dedicated time and resources to further education of the Sumatran tiger. In addition to this they are working closely with mammal curators and ecology teams to spearhead a new tiger conservation project in Sumatra.
